The Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) newsletter redesign.
Original newsletter
The weekly newsletter at GARP had an outdated look and feel and had too many internal banner ads. It also featured a lot of content that wasn't original to GARP.
Strategy
The goals for the redesigned newsletter:
Promoting original content such as events, podcasts, and articles, and linking to them from the newsletter
Increasing the ratio of content to advertisements to 90:10
Reducing banner ads and shifting to inline ads
Designing a mobile-friendly layout (with fewer images on mobile)
Updating the email template to a user-friendly format (instead of HTML) to allow staff to manage and update it daily, which reduced the need for vendor involvement
Improving the design to have a minimalist and modern look, including custom icons.
